How to store a power station without losing the warranty
Charge level, temperature and how often to cycle it, from the EcoFlow, BLUETTI and Jackery manuals. One brand voids the warranty after 6 months untouched.
A power station bought "for emergencies" often sits in a closet for a year. That is when batteries suffer, and for one brand it is also when the warranty quietly ends.
EcoFlow: every 3 months, or no warranty after 6
EcoFlow's manuals say to store the station between -10 °C and 45 °C (14 °F to 113 °F). The RIVER 3 Plus manual recommends about 0 to 30 °C, the DELTA 3 Plus manual 20 to 30 °C. For long-term storage, cycle it every 3 months. The EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus manual says: fully charge it, then discharge to 60% for storage. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus manual says: discharge to 0%, then recharge to 60%.
Both say that if the station is not charged or discharged for more than 6 months, the warranty is void. Put a reminder in your calendar.
BLUETTI: store at 40 to 60%, cycle every 3 months
The BLUETTI AC180 manual says: if you will not use it for more than 3 months, charge it to 40 to 60% and store it powered off, and discharge and charge it every 3 months for the best battery life. It also says to charge it when the charge drops below 5%, and if it reaches 0, to power it off and charge it for at least 30 minutes before restarting.
Jackery: Battery Saving Mode
The Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus manual describes a Battery Saving Mode in the Jackery app. It limits charging to 85% and discharging to 15%, and only recharges below 80%, to extend battery life. Useful for a station that sits plugged in as backup.
In short
Store it cool and dry, at roughly half charge, and give it a full cycle every 3 months. Check your own model's manual for the exact rule; every station page here links to it.
