Will the Jackery SolarSaga 200 (JS-200D) work with the EcoFlow RIVER Max?

Yes, with a catch. Fine in mild weather (24.8V), but on a 20°F (-7°C) morning the open-circuit voltage rises to about 26.9V, above the 25V limit. Cold makes panels push more voltage. Two panels: works, with a catch (2 panels in parallel on Solar input), about 200 W.

Quick answers

Will the Jackery SolarSaga 200 (JS-200D) work with the EcoFlow RIVER Max?

Yes, with a catch. Fine in mild weather (24.8V), but on a 20°F (-7°C) morning the open-circuit voltage rises to about 26.9V, above the 25V limit. Cold makes panels push more voltage. Two panels: works, with a catch (2 panels in parallel on Solar input), about 200 W.

Can I connect two SolarSaga 200 (JS-200D) panels to the RIVER Max?

Yes, 2 panels in parallel on Solar input. That gives about 200 W, with one catch: Fine in mild weather (24.8V), but on a 20°F (-7°C) morning the open-circuit voltage rises to about 26.9V, above the 25V limit. Cold makes panels push more voltage..

What cable do I need to connect the SolarSaga 200 (JS-200D) to the RIVER Max?

Check the station's manual for the right solar cable.

Is it safe on a cold morning?

Panel voltage rises in the cold. One SolarSaga 200 (JS-200D) goes from 24.8 V on its label to about 26.9 V at 20°F and 27.6 V at 0°F. The RIVER Max accepts up to 25 V on the Solar input.

Rules we applied
  • EcoFlow RIVER Max: solar input 10 to 25 V on the Solar in (Solar input). EcoFlow sets this limit on open-circuit voltage (Voc), so we hold the panels' Voc on your coldest morning to it.
  • Cold raises panel voltage: we add 0.27% per °C below 77F (25°C), this panel's own figure. At 20F one panel's 24.8 V becomes 26.9 V.
  • Current over the 12 A cap is safe: the station takes 12 A and you get fewer watts. We count only the capped watts.
  • Max 200 W on this input.
Assumptions
  • Cold-morning voltage uses this panel's own coefficient from its manual, 0.27% per °C.
  • Expected watts are the best case in full sun. Real-world midday output is usually 60 to 80% of that.
